Key Highlight: Wireless Integration Captures Leaky Revenue
Proximiti provided telephone equipment, telecommunications services, wireless phones and service, conferencing, and messaging services for a 20 person law firm in downtown Orlando. The firm also had subleased some of its space to another specialty law firm and shared administrative resources. Proximiti set up the system to provide services to both firms using the same equipment while maintaining integrity of each firm's operations.
Proximiti's solution delivers all of the normal important law firm functions with messaging and call groups but the most attractive feature for the lawyers was the integration of wireless services with their system and billing, Importantly, customer communications from cell phones that was challenging to bill accurately or at all is now captured automatically.
Proximiti provides two wireless phone options for law firm:
(a) Proximiti provides wireless phones and service;
(b) The law firm or lawyers can use their existing cell phones.
Here's how the wireless integration works:
- The Proximiti 3600 recognizes as extensions both the office desk phone and a registered cell phone;
- An inbound call to a receptionist or auto-attendant that is transferred to a desk phone can also automatically place a call to the cell phone;
- The desktop phone will ring instantly, the cell phone takes a few seconds to get connected through the network;
- If the phone is answered or the lawyer's assistant answers the phone, the cell phone leg is dropped before the phone rings;
- If after hours for example, and a lawyer is in the law library, the cell phone will ring and if the lawyer takes the call, walks back to his or her desk, they can transfer the call to the office phone by simply picking up the desktop phone;
- The cell phone connection is then dropped, saving on wireless minutes.
The most powerful application is when Proximiti provides both wireless phones and office phone equipment.
Proximiti can also provide cell phones and wireless plans for law firm personnel. Those call detail records can then be merged with office call detail records to make client tracking simpler and more timely than current methods. The law firm can even retrieve records daily from their Proximiti account on the Proximiti web site.
Other Important Highlights:
- Both law firms saved 40% or more on traditional telephone service and 25% on their data connection costs;
- There was no equipment to install, they simply plugged in phones to their data network, must like a computer into the LAN;
- Adding phones for new personnel is easy---simply order a phone from Proximiti and plug it in. Using a web interface, the office administrator assigned an extension and call routing for busy or no answered calls;
- Proximiti provides call logs that can be imported into billing systems;
- Several lawyers work at home at nights and weekends and Proximiti provided phones simply installed into their cable modems, making these "home phones" the same extension as the office so incoming calls and outgoing calls fit right into the normal billing system;
- Conference calling is very powerful and simple to use so lawyers with important conference calls no longer need to travel to the office on weekends or evenings to complete.
